Frequently Asked Questions About Homemade Guacamole
Before I share the recipes with you, here are a few questions I get about making homemade guacamole…
How do I pick the best avocados to make guacamole?
You can pick avocados that are ripe but not too soft. They should be dark green in color and have a little give to them when you press on the skin.
How do I know if my avocados are bad?
The most common sign of a bad avocado is a brownish tinge or black spots, which may also indicate bruising from rough handling or an attack by one of many types of pests and bugs.
How can I avoid the guacamole turning brown?
There are many ways to prevent the guacamole from browning, but the most common is lime juice. You can also use lemon or vinegar.
How long does homemade guacamole last in the fridge before it goes bad?
Homemade guacamole should last for about two days in the fridge before it starts to turn brown. I recommend eating it fresh so it tastes the best!
